Scholarship Winners of 2017
Isabel Tobin, of Harwinton, CT is a graduate of Wamogo Regional High School and
will be attending the University of Finlay in Ohio in the fall. Isabel will be
pursuing a Bachelorís degree in Animal Sciences. She participated on the
Lumberjack Timber Team at the Fair and exhibited in our Youth In Action.
We wish Isabel success continuing her education and are happy to have helped her achieve her goals.
Amy Couture of Morris, CT is a graduate of Wamogo Regional High School and will
be attending Endicott College in Beverly, MA pursuing a Bachelorís degree in
Communications & Digital Film Making. Amy worked in our Draft Horse exhibit
building at the Fair and also exhibited in our Youth In Action.
We wish her success as she continues her educational studies this fall.
The Scholarship for this year
The Harwinton Agricultural Society, Inc. offers two scholarships to all students active in the Harwinton Fair without discrimination as to race, color or creed.
Applicants must be residents of Connecticut and enrolled at an accredited institution of higher learning. The two scholarships of $1,500 each will be awarded annually to a graduating high school senior or a current college student. One scholarship will be awarded to a student pursuing a course of study in agriculture, home economics, or a related field in the next academic year. The other scholarship will be awarded to a student pursuing a course of study in any field during the next academic year.
The selection committee will consider the following factors:
- Fair participation is 35%
- Scholastic standing is 30%
- Citizenship & leadership is 20%
- Financial need is 15%

Students may apply each year and are eligible even if they were past recipients of a scholarship.
