Due to limited cage capacity, only entries from Connecticut exhibitors will be accepted.
Owners must have card of approval from Livestock Division indicating Birds were negative to Pullorum Test and Avian Influenza within 12 months.
All entries must be received no later than September 21st, we will take entries until all cages are full.
Entry Fees
- One (1) to four (4) Birds: $10.00
- Over four (4) Birds: $10.00 plus $.50 each.
State on entry blanks: Bantams or Standard, Duck or Goose. Fee must accompany entry or will not be accepted.
Rules
- Birds showing evidence of disease will not be permitted to enter the show.
- All waterfowl must be banded by the state.
- No phone entries accepted. No Thursday night entry.
- No Thursday night entry, must be cooped by 4 pm Friday. Must come into back of the building.
- Judging on Saturday 10 am.
- Exhibits must be removed Sunday 5–6 pm.
- Exhibits must be the property of the exhibitors and must be a recognized variety of poultry and waterfowl.
- The American Standard of Perfections will govern the awards. The number of varieties by one exhibitor will be limited to either five standard varieties or five Bantam varieties.
- No advertising on coops will be allowed until after judging is completed.
- Feed and water will be furnished.
- Single entries, no trios or pairs, no substitute birds.
- Poultry not complying with above regulations will be removed from Fairgrounds.
- No birds under 5 months of age permitted on the grounds.
- Entries limited to 30 birds per family. Show limited to a total of 250 birds.
- The Fair will not be responsible for any accidents, mistakes, loss or damage from any cause.
- The judges will be instructed to withhold a prize or prizes when in their opinion the specimens are not of sufficient merit.
- All pure bred birds and cages must be kept clean.
